EV fast charger manufacturer Kempower and Canadian sales and service partner EV-olution Charging Systems have deployed a 3-megawatt electric bus charging system for Société de transport de Lévis (STLévis) in Québec.
The installation features 40 ceiling-mounted Kempower Control Units with cable retraction systems. A ceiling-mounted system conserves floor space in the depot. Kempower’s distributed charging system dynamically allocates available power among connected vehicles as necessary, helping to manage peak demand.
STLévis currently operates 20 electric buses, and plans to expand its electric fleet in 2027.
“Transit operators need charging infrastructure that supports their current operations and can scale,” said Kempower North America President Monil Malhotra. “The STLévis project demonstrates how flexible charging infrastructure can provide the power needed for large-scale fleet electrification while making efficient use of existing depot space.”
