EVgo partners with Tesla to roll out its own V4 Superchargers

Tesla’s Supercharger network has often been called the gold standard of public EV charging. Now EVgo, a major public charging providers that operates some 1,200 fast charging stations in 47 states, will bring some of that Supercharger mojo to its own customers.

EVgo Superchargers, owned and branded by EVgo, but operated and maintained by Tesla, will be deployed at sites “in major cities all across the US.” All will be V4 Superchargers—the latest and greatest generation, capable of charging at speeds of up to 500 kW.

EVgo Superchargers will be equipped with Tesla’s Magic Dock technology, which enables CCS or NACS vehicles to charge natively without the use of an adapter. They will also offer longer charging cables, making it easier for non-Tesla EVs to conveniently plug in.

Deployments are to begin later this year.
