InstaVolt expands British Land partnership to continue major UK retail park EV charging rollout

UK EV charging network InstaVolt is expanding its partnership with property developer British Land to continue work on a major rollout of EV charging stations at UK retail centers.

The partnership comprises 18 British Land locations, where some 273 EV charging units are scheduled to be deployed. Five of the sites are already live, and the rest are due for activation over the coming months. 

Two sites currently in development—at Reading Gate and Kingston, Milton Keynes—will feature on-site battery energy storage, which will ease demand on the local grid and support reliable charging even at peak times.

All the sites are open 24/7. Drivers can take advantage of InstaVolt’s off-peak rates after 8 pm through the InstaVolt app.

“This is one of the largest retail park charging rollouts in the country, and it is growing fast,” said Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt. “Retail parks are exactly where ultra-rapid charging belongs: drivers are already there, already spending time, and topping up fits neatly around the shop or a coffee. With battery storage now coming to key sites, we are not simply adding chargers, we are building resilient infrastructure that performs when demand is highest.”
