XCharge presented the new generation of its C7 DC fast charging station at the recent Power2Drive Europe trade show in Munich.
The design of the new C7 charging station builds on field experience from deployments with multiple charge point operators. At the core of the new C7 is a system designed to support 480 kW charging.
The new C7 is designed for applications that require high charging power, such as public charging stations, commercial fleet locations, retail parking areas and other commercial environments. Features include a barrier-free dual-outlet design, integrated cable management and liquid- or air-cooled high-power charging cables.
The updated C7 features a revised platform architecture, improved thermal management, scalable power modules and increased serviceability.
Adaptive thermal management dynamically adjusts fan speed based on module temperature, ambient conditions and power load. This is designed to maintain thermal stability across operating conditions, reduce the effects of temperature fluctuations and support consistent long-term performance.
All XCharge charging solutions integrate cybersecurity features, incuding TLS 1.3 protection and secure over-the-air updates. The C7 supports OCPP 2.0.1, ISO 15118 Plug & Charge and VDV 261, and is designed for seamless integration with vehicles, backend platforms and mobility operators.
“With the new generation of the C7, we are consistently advancing an established fast charging solution,” said Albina Iljasov, Co-CEO at XCharge. “In Europe, we see strong demand for high-performance DC charging infrastructure that can be operated efficiently, easily integrated and used in a user-friendly manner. The C7’s higher charging power and enhanced features are designed to meet these needs.”
