German automotive components manufacturer MAHLE has received a €200-million order to supply DC/DC converters to an international car manufacturer in China for its future electric model range.

MAHLE will start series production to fulfill the order at its Changshu location in the middle of 2028.

DC/DC converters transform the voltage of the high-voltage battery into a low voltage level of 12 V to supply all 12 V devices in a vehicle that cannot be operated at 800 V, such as cameras, multimedia systems or electric pumps.

“The speed of innovation in China is enormous. We see potential for further growth, especially in the areas of electrification and thermal management,” said Dr. Roger Busch, MAHLE Head of Sales & Technology and Member of the Management Committee.
